What's a healthy snack I can prepare on a student budget with only a fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle and panini maker?

1: I like (Quaker) Oat Granola with natural yogurt (Sainsbury's Basics) - you don't need a lot & I believe the slow releasing carbs mean you're not hungry for a while. I discovered this in a little pot with fruit in a Sainsbury's convenience after 6 o'clock when things get reduced - always worth checking out the reductions in the evening on any budget.

2: Pick up a casserole pack - sometimes reduced in the evening in many supermarkets & convenience stores. This usually contains carrots, an onion, a parsnip & a swede, which make cheap, healthy soup. Just pop the chopped up veg into a pan (available in a charity shop) with some boiling water, about half a cup of lentils, 2 or 3 vegetable stock cubes & salt & pepper. This should feed you a few days & will keep in the fridge - yum!

3: Potatoes are easy and can have many different toppings. I prefer sweet potatoes as I find they cook easier and quicker, and makes a nice change. Paninis are great, just add some ham, tomato, bit of cheese and some basil and its yummy snack
