How to cook perfect pasta, whatever I do its always overcooked!

2:Heat two litres of water in a big saucepan or stock pot (or, as I do, in a kettle), add about a quarter of a packet of penne pasta (what?! I like it!) or about 80g spaghetti. To that, add about half a shot glass of balsamic vinegar, some basil, and some salt and olive oil. Give it a good stir (the olive oil helps stop the pasta sticking to the pan), and leave it bubbling happily for about 10-15 minutes. The vinegar, basil and salt give the pasta some flavour, and all you need to do is drain the water and you've got a great accompaniment for bolognese or arrabbiata sauce. :)
